January Self-Care

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the first month of 2021.

For many of us this season is filled with promises to take added care of ourselves, to carve out time for new (or revisited) wellness practices and to begin the year with fresh mindfulness.

This morning I was reflecting on a few areas of my personal wellness routine and I thought I’d share them here with you, in the hopes that they might inspire you to choose a moment for self-care today, tomorrow or whenever you need it most.

Whatever wellness looks like for you, I hope this year brings you health, happiness and a sense of stability in all that you do.

RELAX:

Meditation is one of my favourite ways to ground myself and take a moment for rest amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Glo offers over 500 guided meditation sessions through their monthly membership with options that are perfect for people practicing at any level.

LEARN:

Sometimes wellness is as simple as taking an afternoon to dive into a good book and learn something new.

I'm currently reading Think Like a Monk: Train Your Mind for Peace and Purpose Every Day by Jay Shetty.

CONNECT:

Our connection to others is an important aspect of any wellness routine. While we can't get together in person right now there's still plenty of creative ways to spend time together.

Embiria offers a ton of great at-home experiences that you can enjoy with loved ones from soy candle workshops to guided watercolour sessions.

REFLECT:

Not only does journaling allow us an opportunity for self-reflection but it also offers a resource for relieving stress, boosting creativity and organizing our ideas and goals.

The Five Minute Journal is an easy way to get into the practice of journaling with a quick and simple framework that keeps you accountable each day.
